Palestinian Leader Abbas Rejects Trump’s Proposal To Take Over Gaza

Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas has strongly rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for Palestine to “take over” and “own” the Gaza Strip.

In statement released on Wednesday, Abbas’s office condemned any move to seize Gaza or displace Palestinians from their homeland, emphasizing that “legitimate Palestinian rights are not negotiable.”

Speaking on Palestinian public television, Abbas’s spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeina, reaffirmed that Gaza is an “integral part of the State of Palestine.”

The Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), led by Abbas, also criticized Trump’s alleged proposal to relocate Gazans to Egypt or Jordan.

PLO Secretary-General Hussein al-Sheikh denounced all calls for the displacement of Palestinians, stressing that their homeland is non-negotiable.
