Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has revealed how Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy allegedly sought help from fellow Afrobeats star Davido to secure a place aboard his private jet for a performance in Yola, Adamawa State.

Skales, who recounted the experience while discussing memorable moments in his music career, disclosed that Burna Boy contacted Davido after discovering that they were travelling to the same destination for a concert.

According to him, Davido readily agreed to accommodate Burna Boy and his team, despite limited space aboard the aircraft.

“Burna called Davido and said, ‘Please, can I join their jet?’ Davido said, ‘Why not?’” Skales recalled.

The singer explained that the aircraft was already carrying several passengers, forcing Davido to rearrange travel plans to accommodate the additional guests.

He said one member of Davido’s entourage had to postpone the journey until the following day to create room for the musicians.

Even with the adjustment, the jet remained so crowded that one passenger reportedly had to sit on the toilet seat during the trip.

Skales further disclosed that Davido personally surrendered his seat to make him more comfortable during the flight.

The gesture, he suggested, reflected the cooperation that existed among the entertainers during the trip, despite the competitive nature of the Nigerian music industry.

The revelation offers a glimpse into an earlier period when some of today’s biggest Afrobeats stars travelled and performed together while building their careers.

Although Burna Boy and Davido have subsequently attracted public attention over their reported rivalry, Skales’ account recalls a moment when both artistes shared travel arrangements to honour performance engagements.

Beyond the unusual flight experience, Skales described the Yola performance as an important moment in his musical journey.

He disclosed that he eventually performed alongside Burna Boy at the event, which also provided an opportunity to connect with the internationally recognised music group Major Lazer.

According to him, the encounter later developed into a musical collaboration, making the trip significant beyond the concert itself.

The singer’s recollection highlights how professional relationships and unexpected encounters can create opportunities within the entertainment industry.

Skales did not specify when the journey took place, and neither Burna Boy nor Davido was quoted responding to his account in the report.
