‘I Was In Pain, I Was Mistreated’ – Akin Olaiya’s Estranged Wife Speaks

Nafisat, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Akin Olaiya, has alleged that domestic violence and mistreatment led to the collapse of their marriage.

Speaking in a video shared on social media, Nafisat said she left the marriage a few months after their July 2025 wedding, contrary to claims in a statement attributed to Olaiya that she moved out without explanation.

“I left my marriage because I was in pain and mistreated. Nobody is going to stay in a marital home that goes with violence,” she said, adding that she and the actor had been separated since last year.

Nafisat stated that while she would not disclose the full details of their marital issues online, it was unfair to suggest she abandoned the marriage without cause.

The allegations have not been publicly addressed by Olaiya as of the time of filing this report. Earlier reports indicated that the actor’s statement announcing the end of the marriage surfaced online on Monday.

The couple’s wedding in July 2025 drew attention on social media after clips from the ceremony showed the bride appearing subdued while the actor danced excitedly.
