‘Bring Them Home’: Davido Advocates For Kidnapped Pupils At World Cup Event

Afrobeats star Davido used his performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert in the United States to draw global attention to the plight of students and teachers abducted in Oyo State.

The singer took to the stage wearing a custom outfit bearing the message “Bring Them Home,” alongside the names of victims of the recent abduction in Oriire Local Government Area.

According to a viral backstage video, Davido’s black leather jacket featured the names of those affected by the incident, with different colours used to distinguish victims still in captivity from those who had lost their lives.

Before his performance, the award-winning artiste expressed sympathy for the affected families and urged authorities to intensify efforts to secure the release of those still being held.

He said Nigeria was facing difficult security challenges and called for swift government action to rescue the abducted victims.

By using one of football’s biggest global platforms, Davido amplified calls for justice and brought international attention to the ongoing security concerns in parts of Nigeria.
