National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that the ruling party possesses the strength and numbers needed to win the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election and the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council for the June 20 Ekiti governorship poll in Abuja, Yilwatda described Governor Biodun Oyebanji as a performing leader deserving of a second term.

He commended the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare and social welfare, arguing that his record has positioned him strongly ahead of the election.

Yilwatda also touted the APC’s growing political influence, saying no other party could match its membership strength, mobilisation capacity and ability to raise campaign funds.

Senate President and co-chairman of the campaign council, Godswill Akpabio, urged aspirants seeking elective positions in 2027 to accept the outcomes of the party’s primaries in good faith, stressing the need for unity ahead of the elections.

Campaign council chairman and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, said structures had been established across Ekiti’s 16 local government areas and 177 wards to mobilise support for the APC candidate.

He said the campaign would focus on grassroots engagement, youth and women participation, while emphasising that the election was crucial to sustaining the progress recorded under the Oyebanji administration.
