Obi Supporters Not In ADC Are ‘DisObidient’ — Okonkwo

Supporters of former Anambra State governor Peter Obi who fail to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) can no longer claim to be “Obidients,” party chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo has said.

Speaking on Channels Television on Friday, Okonkwo said Obi had directed his supporters to formally register with the ADC following his defection to the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, any loyalist who remains outside the ADC is acting against Obi’s instruction and should no longer use the Obidient label.

Okonkwo described the ADC as a party built on internal democracy and discipline, noting that it does not allow conditional entry by political leaders.

He also claimed that the South-East had largely aligned with the ADC, warning that politicians in the zone who choose other platforms were indirectly aiding the ruling party.

While welcoming Obi to the party, Okonkwo said the ADC had not yet zoned its presidential ticket and pledged to support whoever emerges as its candidate.
