Tinubu Returns From Four-Week Vacation, Says ‘I’m Healthy, Ready To Go’

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a four-week working vacation in Europe, declaring that he is healthy, sound and ready to resume official duties.

Tinubu arrived at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday from Paris, France, where he had spent the final leg of his extended stay.

The President’s return came amid speculation over his health following the extension of his working vacation.

However, addressing State House correspondents shortly after his arrival, Tinubu dismissed the insinuations, insisting that he was in good health and ready to work.

“I enjoyed myself,” the President said.

“Ready to kick, ready to work, there is nothing wrong. Rumours will always emanate from politics. But the fact is I’m here, healthy, sound and ready to go.”

Tinubu was received at the airport by top government officials and dignitaries, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; and senior security chiefs.

The President’s four-week stay abroad had been described by the Presidency as a working vacation, during which he combined rest with official engagements.

His return is expected to mark the resumption of his full schedule of domestic engagements as the administration continues to pursue its economic and governance agenda.

Tinubu’s declaration that he is “healthy, sound and ready to go” also seeks to put to rest the latest round of speculation surrounding his health and extended absence from the country.
