Tinubu Congratulates Tems On Grammy Win, Applauds Nigerian Artists

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian music star Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, on winning the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

In a statement on Monday, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, praised Tems for her artistry, noting that her success brings pride to Nigeria on the global stage.

Tems won with her song “Love Me JeJe,” beating other nominees including Yemi Alade (Tomorrow), Asake ft. Wizkid (MMS), Chris Brown ft. Davido & Lojay (Sensational), and Burna Boy (Higher).

This marks Tems’ second Grammy win.

Tinubu also applauded the rise of young, multi-talented Nigerian artists who have propelled Afrobeats to global prominence, describing their success as a source of national pride.

He extended his congratulations to other Nigerian Grammy nominees, including Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Lojay, Davido, and Burna Boy, thanking them for showcasing Nigeria’s creative excellence.
