Bode George Criticizes Fayose For Supporting APC Governor

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Bode George has strongly criticized former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose for endorsing the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During an interview on *Channels Television’s Politics Today*, George suggested that Fayose’s actions could be grounds for an investigation into anti-party activities. The criticism followed Fayose’s praise of Oyebanji’s performance and his claim that the PDP would struggle to defeat the incumbent governor in the 2026 governorship election.

“Governor Oyebanji has done exceedingly well,” Fayose stated, implying that it would take a “miracle” for the PDP to win in Ekiti.

Responding to this, George remarked, “If it is true that Governor Fayose openly rejected the party and stated that he is going to work for the APC governor, he has defined his direction,” hinting at potential sanctions.

George further expressed concern over the ongoing internal divisions within the PDP and called on party members to prioritize unity. He urged party leaders to resolve disputes privately, warning that public infighting would only weaken the party as it prepares for future elections.

This incident adds to the internal strife that has plagued the PDP in recent times, posing challenges as the party gears up for upcoming political contests.
