The President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners and Marketers Association (PETROAN), Gillis-Harry, has called on the Dangote Refinery to publicly disclose its selling price for petrol.
He emphasized that the lack of transparency has hindered local marketers from fully embracing the product.
In an interview, Gillis-Harry expressed frustration over the uncertainty surrounding Dangote Refinery’s pricing.

“We are eager to partner with Dangote Refinery, but we need clear information to make informed decisions,” he stated.
“The current situation, where we don’t know the price of their petrol, is creating challenges for both marketers and consumers.”
The PETROAN president noted that while marketers are willing to purchase Dangote Refinery’s petrol, they require terms that are conducive to a sustainable business model.

He pointed to previous experiences with diesel, where stringent minimum purchase requirements made it difficult for smaller retailers to participate.
“We hope that Dangote Refinery will address these concerns and provide a transparent pricing structure,” Gillis-Harry concluded. “By doing so, we can work together to ensure a reliable and affordable supply of petrol for Nigerians.”
