Senior Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry in Abuja has refuted allegations that his ministry misuses the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) name to mislead the public about spiritual items.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the church’s media team and signed by Sophia Iloyd, the church denounced the accusations as false and misleading. This comes in response to NAFDAC’s recent alert about Fufeyin’s church allegedly using the agency’s name deceitfully.
The church emphasized its adherence to legal regulations, including those set by NAFDAC, and asserted its rights under Sections 38 and 39 of the Nigerian Constitution, which guarantee freedom of religion and expression.

“We operate based on our faith and biblical teachings, using spiritual items as part of our religious practice,” the statement read. The church vehemently denied claims that NAFDAC was issuing warnings about its activities.
The statement further clarified that the church has not engaged in producing or selling consumable items to the public or used NAFDAC’s name inappropriately. It noted that the only existing complaint against the church is a petition from Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkblackman, who has been taken to court by the church over various allegations.

The church acknowledged receiving a letter from NAFDAC dated August 27, 2024, requesting an inquiry into its use of miracle and healing items. However, it claimed the church was given less than 12 hours to respond and has already submitted its position to NAFDAC.
Additionally, the church alleged that Otse had forged receipts to support his claims, with discrepancies in dates and details compared to the church’s standard receipts. The church has informed NAFDAC of the ongoing police investigation into these receipts, but has yet to receive any feedback from the agency.
