FirstBank Supports 600 Women With Vesicovaginal Fistula

FirstBank has made a significant impact on the lives of 600 women in Jigawa and Plateau States affected by Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF).

The bank provided these women with free surgeries and essential aftercare kits as part of its annual Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Week.

In addition to medical support, FirstBank launched a rehabilitation program designed to help the women regain their livelihoods.

This initiative aligns with the bank’s sustainability strategy, which focuses on education, health and welfare, and diversity and inclusion.

Shehu Aliyu, FirstBank’s Executive Director of Public Sector, emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting women’s health and well-being.

“Our partnership with state governments aims to raise awareness about VVF and provide necessary medical interventions,” he stated.
