The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has sworn to follow the prosecution of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to logical conclusion.
In a chat with journalists at the EFCC Headquarters in the Jabi area of Abuja on Tuesday, the anti-graft chairman vowed to resign as EFCC chairman if Bello is not prosecuted and that anyone who obstructs Bello’s arrest will face legal consequences without exception.
He firmly stated that no amount of resistance or aggression towards the EFCC would deter the agency from its mandate to combat corruption and cleanse the nation’s public institutions. “Our dedication to purifying the country remains resolute,” he declared.

Furthermore, Olukoyede underscored that the EFCC’s actions have already begun to yield positive economic results for the country. He cited improvements in the value of the Naira and stability in the foreign exchange market as tangible evidence of the ongoing anti-corruption campaigns.
