The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited have opened applications for the 2026 edition of their joint National University Scholarship Award, offering multi-year financial grants to eligible undergraduates across public universities.
The initiative, announced Saturday via an official broadcast on Shell’s verified social media channels, provides structured annual academic funding designed to support beneficiaries through the completion of their degree programmes.
Under the eligibility guidelines released by the operating joint venture, applicants must be enrolled as full-time students currently in their second year of academic study within accredited federal and state universities.
Prospective beneficiaries are required to maintain a verified Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 3.5 on a five-point grading scale to qualify for screening and final selection.
The operators confirmed that all candidate submissions must be completed online through the central Scholastica scholarship portal before the official portal closure on November 30, 2026.
According to program documentation released alongside the call for entries, the corporate social investment aims to boost high-level technical capability and sustain academic performance standards across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The operators added that female undergraduates meeting the academic criteria are specifically encouraged to apply to broaden gender inclusion within critical national academic disciplines.
