The Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Kehinde Ganiyu Hamzat, has called for stronger collaboration between Africa and China in deploying intelligent logistics technology to improve transportation efficiency and strengthen logistics systems across the continent.
Hamzat made the call while delivering the opening address on behalf of African participants at the Seminar on the Application of Chinese Intelligent Logistics Technology in Africa, held at the Suzhou University of Science and Technology in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.
The seminar, which attracted 30 participants from different African countries, is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
Addressing the participants, Hamzat expressed appreciation to the Chinese Government and the university for providing the opportunity for African delegates to acquire knowledge and gain technical exposure in China’s rapidly developing intelligent logistics sector.
He described the seminar as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, technical learning and institutional capacity development, particularly in addressing transportation and logistics challenges confronting African countries.
The FRSC commander emphasised the need for African countries to leverage China’s advancements in intelligent logistics technology to improve transportation efficiency, strengthen logistics infrastructure and promote smart mobility solutions.
He also assured the organisers that the knowledge, innovations and technical expertise acquired during the programme would be translated into practical benefits to support transportation development across Africa.
Earlier, the Vice President of Suzhou University of Science and Technology, HE Xiangjiang, welcomed the African delegates and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting the programme and ensuring its objectives were achieved.
The seminar is expected to provide participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding of China’s intelligent logistics systems and explore how such technologies can be adapted to address Africa’s evolving transportation and logistics needs.
