Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up about a difficult health experience that left her battling severe pain and mobility challenges for several months.
Daniels disclosed this in a video shared on her Instagram page on Saturday as she marked her 25th birthday, explaining that her health struggles were also responsible for her prolonged absence from social media.
The actress said what initially appeared to be a minor health issue gradually became more serious, at some point leaving her unable to walk without assistance and dependent on a wheelchair.
“I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life,” she said.
According to Daniels, her condition became particularly difficult following the children’s carnival she hosted.
“For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this,” she explained.
She said the pain later became severe, with her ability to walk fluctuating.
“Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried,” the actress added.
‘There have been significant developments’
Despite the difficulties, Daniels said she was encouraged by recent developments in her recovery and expressed gratitude to God for her progress.
She said her faith had remained an important source of strength throughout the period and that she remained hopeful for healing and peace.
The actress also spoke about the emotional impact of becoming increasingly dependent on others for assistance with routine activities.
Explaining her decision to publicly discuss the situation, Daniels said improvements in her condition had encouraged her to share her experience with her fans.
“Well, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this with y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord,” she said.
Daniels also revealed that she had moved closer to her loved ones, particularly her children, during the period.
She explained that she initially rented the property but later developed an interest in acquiring it.
Daniels married businessman and politician Ned Nwoko in 2019, and the couple have two children. Their relationship has in recent times attracted considerable public attention amid reports of a contentious separation.
