Nigerian actor and content creator Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has expressed gratitude to individuals who supported him during what he described as one of the most challenging periods of his life.
The comedian shared his appreciation in a post on X, saying messages from people who recalled his past acts of kindness moved him to tears and reminded him to focus on gratitude rather than past struggles.
Mr Macaroni said he realised he had been paying more attention to what he lost instead of appreciating how he overcame difficult moments.
“I have been thinking too much about what I lost instead of thanking God for seeing me through one of the hardest moments of my life,” he wrote.
The content creator explained that he was more accustomed to giving help than receiving it, noting that many people assumed he was financially comfortable and did not need assistance.
“I am used to always giving and hardly ever receiving because everyone thought I had in abundance. I have also always found it difficult to ask for help,” he said.
He revealed that someone repeatedly assisted him in settling his debts during his difficult period, describing the support as a major intervention in his life.
Mr Macaroni also acknowledged the role played by his close friends, fans and supporters, whom he called “Mr Macaroni & Friends,” for standing by him when he needed help.
He specifically thanked music executive Don Jazzy, saying the producer had supported him since his university days and had continued to extend kindness to him and others.
“To Don Jazzy, who has been giving me since my university days up till now, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do, not just for me but for so many others,” he said.
The actor also appreciated Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and Pastor Bolaji for their support.
Mr Macaroni said he is now in a better place and has learned valuable lessons from his experiences.
“I don’t and will never regret anything I have ever done in my life to make the lives of others better in even the smallest way possible,” he stated.
His post attracted reactions from fans and followers, many of whom shared personal experiences of his generosity, including financial assistance and support for aspiring creatives.
The actor concluded by encouraging kindness and compassion, saying:
“May the love in our hearts be forever greater than the hate in the world.”
