Bonny LGA Nullifies Existing Waivers Exempting Companies From Environmental Sanitation

The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has directed the immediate nullification of all existing waivers granted to companies operating within Bonny LGA that exempt them from participating in or complying with the monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

The Chairman maintains that no corporate or commercial interest should supersede the health, safety, and environmental well-being of the people. Consequently, all companies operating within the Local Government Area are expected to comply fully with the monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

The statement was contained in a Press Release issued in Bonny on Saturday by Amb. Wisdom Chapp-Jumbo,
Chief Press Secretary
Bonny Local Government Council.

The statement added that any company seeking exemption from participation in the monthly environmental sanitation exercise must submit a formal application to the Chairman of the Environmental Sanitation Committee, Mr. Edwin Hart, for review and approval.

It urged companies seeking clarification or wishing to apply for a waiver may contact the Chairman of the Committee via 08066264369.

“The Council Chairman warns that any company found disregarding this directive or participating in unauthorized exemption arrangements will be liable to appropriate sanctions in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.

“All companies and relevant stakeholders are therefore advised to take note of this directive and ensure strict compliance in the interest of a cleaner, safer, and healthier Bonny,” the statement pointed out.

In another development the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has extended an additional ₦2.5 million welfare support to five elderly citizens of Bonny, with each beneficiary receiving ₦500,000.

The Beneficiaries are, Amaopuorubo Mrs. Patience R. I. Manilla Pepple,
Wari-Opusenibo Isaac A. Pepple,
Amaopuorubo Matilda Omoni John-Jumbo, Alabota Grace Konye Jack Wilson Pepple and Mrs. Miranda Jumbo.

The welfare support was presented by Mrs. Rebecca Banigo, Protocol Officer II, Bonny LGA, on behalf of the Chairman.
