Ogogo’s Daughter Announces 40th-Day Prayer For Late Actor

The family of late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is set to hold a 40th-day prayer session in his honour as relatives, friends and colleagues continue to remember the actor’s legacy.

Kira Taiwo, the late actor’s daughter, announced the gathering on Instagram on Wednesday, inviting family members, friends and well-wishers to the Islamic prayer scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026.

The event is expected to begin at 12 noon at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground in Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State.

Ogogo was buried at the same location on August 24, a day after his death at the age of 66.

The invitation poster for the event featured a photograph of the late actor and described the gathering as the 40-day prayer for Alhaji Al-Hassan Babatunde Taiwo, popularly known as Ogogo.

The prayer session is expected to attract members of the actor’s family, friends, colleagues and associates who will gather to honour his memory and celebrate his contribution to the Yoruba film industry.

Ogogo died on August 23, 2026, after a career spanning more than four decades in Nollywood, particularly in the Yoruba-language film industry.

The 40th-day prayer is being held in keeping with the family’s Islamic tradition following his death.
