The Independent National Electoral Commission has updated the official records of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, uploading the party’s new logo and recognising changes in its national leadership structure.
The update followed a Federal High Court judgment directing the electoral body to recognise the party’s modified logo and colour design.
According to the updated information on INEC’s official platform, Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe is now listed as the National Chairman of the NDC, while Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu is recognised as the National Secretary.
Other officials listed include John Odey as National Treasurer, Mainasara Abubakar Sani as National Financial Secretary and Reuben Egwuaba as National Legal Adviser.
INEC marked the leadership updates as having been made “by court order”, indicating that the commission’s database was amended in compliance with the court directive.
The development followed a legal dispute between the NDC and INEC over the commission’s refusal to recognise the party’s modified logo adopted after its first National Executive Committee meeting.
The party had approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, challenging INEC’s decision and arguing that the refusal to upload the new identity violated its rights as a registered political organisation.
In a judgment delivered by Justice J. O. Abdulmalik, the court ruled in favour of the NDC, declaring INEC’s refusal to recognise the modified logo unconstitutional and unlawful.
The case, filed under suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/1814/2026, centred on the party’s demand for official recognition of its new logo and colour arrangement.
With the latest update, the NDC’s revised identity and leadership structure have now been reflected in INEC’s official records.
The move comes ahead of increased political activity towards the 2027 general elections, as political parties continue efforts to strengthen their structures and public visibility.
