President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner, patriot and dedicated public servant whose loyalty has remained invaluable to his administration.
Tinubu, in a birthday message issued on Tuesday, congratulated Shettima as his “brother and partner” in steering the affairs of the country, while extending his greetings to the Vice President’s wife, Nana, children, family and political associates.
The President said Shettima’s life had been defined by “service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” praising his distinguished career in banking and his records as Governor of Borno State and Vice President of Nigeria.
According to Tinubu, Shettima has demonstrated courage, diligence and compassion in both elected positions, while maintaining an unwavering commitment to national unity and progress.
“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” Tinubu said.
The President particularly commended Shettima for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), his support for the administration and his commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tinubu also praised the Vice President’s role as Chairman of the National Economic Council, saying Shettima had provided “purposeful leadership” in coordinating economic policies and strengthening collaboration between the Federal Government and sub-national governments.
He further credited Shettima with respecting constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation, which he said had contributed to strengthening good governance.
“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” the President said.
Tinubu expressed appreciation to Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership, expressing confidence that both leaders would continue working together to deliver on the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” he said.
The President, on behalf of the Federal Government, prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to guide, protect and strengthen Shettima, while granting him wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.
