Taking effect on August 31, 2026, the judicial panel is chaired by Magistrate Ayokunle Shiyanbola and tasked with uncovering the remote and immediate triggers of the unrest, establishing casualty identities, and fixing institutional or individual criminal liabilities.
Osun State Government spokesperson Olawale Rasheed confirmed in an official statement that the inquiry will independently review whether firearms deployment and tactical responses by security personnel adhered to statutory rules of engagement and fundamental human rights standards.
