NYSC Shifts 2026 Batch B Stream II Orientation In Sokoto, Niger

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has postponed the commencement of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course in Sokoto and Niger States due to ongoing renovation works at the orientation camps.

The NYSC management announced that the orientation exercise, earlier scheduled to commence on an earlier date, will now begin on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

According to a statement by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the postponement was necessitated by renovation works being carried out at the two orientation camps by their respective state governments.

The NYSC said the Cut-Off/Swearing-in Ceremony will take place on Friday, August 14, while the Closing Ceremony has been fixed for Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The Corps urged all prospective corps members (PCMs) posted to Sokoto and Niger States to take note of the revised dates and make the necessary arrangements for the orientation exercise.

The scheme also cautioned prospective corps members against embarking on night journeys to their respective orientation camps, stressing the need for them to prioritise their safety while travelling.

The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wished all prospective corps members safe journeys to their orientation camps.

The NYSC assured stakeholders that the revised schedule would facilitate a smooth and effective orientation exercise for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members in the two states.
