P-Square Feud: Jude Okoye Dismisses $1.2m Diversion Allegation

Former P-Square manager Jude Okoye has denied allegations that he diverted more than $1.2 million in music royalties belonging to his younger brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), insisting the matter has already been investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and is before the court.

In an Instagram video posted on Sunday, Jude accused Mr P of trying to influence public opinion instead of allowing the legal process to run its course.

“You are trying to bait me. You know the court is not going in your favour. For three good sittings now, you have been dodging court,” he said.

Responding to claims that he and Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) diverted a $25,000 royalty payment, Jude said records from digital distributor IROKO showed Mr P instructed that his share be paid directly into his personal account in 2016, while the remaining royalties due to Jude and Rudeboy were paid into Northside Entertainment’s account.

He also dismissed claims that Mr P was removed as a signatory to the group’s bank accounts, saying official bank documents presented in court prove otherwise.

Jude further rejected allegations that he delayed handing over P-Square’s music catalogue, stating the records were transferred within six days and that access logs showed Peter downloaded the files immediately.

He also disputed Mr P’s claim that he only recently started receiving royalty payments in US dollars, insisting payment records show the singer had been paid in dollars since 2012.

Maintaining that all royalty payments were properly documented and distributed, Jude said he would not comment further on issues before the court except to correct what he described as “false narratives.”

He also revealed that his bank accounts had remained frozen for more than two years, preventing him from travelling while the legal proceedings continue.
