Olodo Uprising: Babcock Disowns Fake Certificate Linked To Carter Efe

Babcock University has dismissed a viral academic certificate linked to comedian and singer Carter Efe, saying the document is fake and was never issued by the institution.

In a statement released on Monday, the university said the purported “Honorary Certificate” allegedly awarded by the “Babcock University Biochemistry Computer Club” to Oderhohwo Joseph Efe for earning a “First Class Upper” did not originate from the institution.

The university stressed that it does not issue honorary certificates to recognise undergraduate academic performance and does not recognise any academic classification known as “First Class Upper.”

According to the institution, the correct classification is “First Class Honours,” which is awarded only through official degree certificates and academic transcripts issued by the Office of the Registrar.

Babcock urged employers, educational institutions, government agencies, professional bodies and members of the public to disregard any academic document purportedly issued outside its established processes.

It also warned that anyone found producing, circulating, presenting or using forged academic documents could face investigation and prosecution under laws relating to forgery, fraud and the falsification of academic records.

The university further advised members of the public to verify all academic credentials through its Office of the Registrar before accepting them for official purposes.
