‘They Said My Baby Had No Nose’ — Judikay Shares Emotional Pregnancy Ordeal

Popular gospel singer Judikay has recounted a frightening pregnancy experience after a medical scan in Canada reportedly suggested that her unborn daughter had serious health complications.

Speaking during her daughter’s dedication service, the singer, whose real name is Judith Kanayo-Opara, revealed that an ultrasound conducted at 34 weeks of pregnancy raised concerns that the baby had no nose, was not breathing properly and might require testing for Down syndrome.

According to Judikay, the report left her distressed, prompting her to contact her husband. She said he encouraged her not to panic or proceed with further testing, urging her instead to remain prayerful and hopeful.

The couple chose to focus on their faith throughout the remainder of the pregnancy. Judikay said her daughter was eventually born healthy, although doctors later discovered that the umbilical cord had been wrapped around the baby’s neck twice while in the womb.
