Iran, Russia Hold Talks At BRICS Meeting In India Amid Global Tensions

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of a BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting in New Delhi, India.

The meeting comes as diplomats from BRICS nations — including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — gather for a two-day session focused on global tensions, energy security and economic uncertainty.

The discussions are taking place against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Iran, which has disrupted global energy supplies and pushed up oil prices.

Officials say the talks will also explore ways to deepen cooperation among member states amid shifting geopolitical alignments and rising international pressure.
