The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, Sadiya Umarw Farouq, wanted over alleged abuse of office and diversion of public funds.
The anti-graft agency announced this in a notice published on its official website on Saturday, urging anyone with useful information on her whereabouts to contact its offices nationwide.
Farouq, 52, a native of Zamfara State, served as minister under late former President Muhammadu Buhari from July 2019 and was one of the youngest members of his cabinet.
Her declaration as wanted follows an arrest warrant issued by an FCT High Court in Apo, Abuja, on April 16, 2026.
