Gyökeres Blames Dry Pitch As Arsenal Fall To Bournemouth

Viktor Gyökeres has blamed a “dry pitch” at the Emirates Stadium for Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to AFC Bournemouth, a result that dented their Premier League title hopes on Saturday.

The loss — Arsenal’s third straight in the league — opens the door for Manchester City to cut the gap at the top to six points if they beat Chelsea on Sunday.

Gyökeres, who scored from the penalty spot to level the game, also missed a late chance to make it 2-2. Reflecting on the opportunity, he said the pitch conditions did not help but admitted the team must be more clinical.

Arsenal will now shift focus to their Champions League quarter-final against Sporting CP before a crucial league clash with Manchester City.
