“I Need A Job Now”: Youth Confronts Aiyedatiwa At Government House

A job seeker, Blessing Oripenaye, on Monday appeared at the Ondo Government House in Akure, seeking employment from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa after repeated failed attempts to reach him.

The graduate said he had written and tagged top officials on social media for 14 days without response, insisting his action was a personal appeal, not a protest

“I have written letters for 14 days through social media, tagging the Governor, the Deputy Governor, the Chief Press Secretary and other key officials, respectfully requesting a job opportunity, but I got no response,” he said.

A former student leader, Akinteye Afeez, backed his move, urging the government to tackle rising youth unemployment.

Responding, the governor’s spokesman said the request had received attention, adding that Oripenaye had been asked to submit his résumé for possible employment.

“The governor has immediately taken up his request and asked him to submit his résumé with a view to offering him employment. So, his matter will be looked into, and he has been assured, he said.
