Adamawa Assembly Approves Three New Commissioners After Atiku’s Son Resigns

The Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday confirmed three commissioner-nominees forwarded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri following the resignation of Adamu Atiku, the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Adamu Atiku resigned from his post as Commissioner for Works and Energy Development after refusing to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The confirmed commissioner-nominees are:

• Sali Idris – representing Maiha LGA
• Muhammed Suleiman – representing Mubi North LGA
• Chubado Mohammed – representing Jada LGA

Speaker Bathiya Wesley presided over the session and emphasized the Assembly’s constitutional duty to ensure that nominees are credible and capable of delivering quality service to the people of Adamawa State.

Following his confirmation, Muhammed Suleiman, who also serves as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Energy Development, praised the governor’s administration. 

He further highlighted that his service had been extended multiple times, reflecting the governor’s confidence in him.
