Police Invite BBNaija’s Dee One Over Viral Video on President

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian, Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as Dee One, has confirmed receiving an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force, Force Intelligence Department (FID) for what was described as a routine interview.

The comedian disclosed this in a post on X on Thursday, where he read excerpts from the invitation letter signed by the Commissioner of Police, FID. The letter stated that the invitation was part of an ongoing inquiry and classified the meeting as a fact-finding interview.

Dee One was directed to report at the FID Annex Office in Lagos through the OCCIOS team.

Reacting, the comedian suggested that the invitation might be linked to a recent video he posted, which sparked widespread reactions and phone calls from various quarters.

While acknowledging the differing opinions about the video, Dee One maintained that he had no regrets and insisted he did nothing wrong, adding that he would not apologise if the invitation was connected to his comments.

According to him, the remarks were personal views expressed as a Nigerian citizen, following what he described as a strange incident involving President Bola Tinubu during a visit to Turkey.

Dee One also addressed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, assuring him that he would honour the invitation and report to the police on Monday, promising to keep Nigerians informed of developments.
