Popular on-air personality Nedu Wazobia has dismissed claims that he was fired from The Honest Bunch podcast, clarifying that he stepped down voluntarily due to mounting controversies.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Thursday, Nedu explained that while people are free to form their own opinions, he chose to remove himself from the situation rather than engage in public disputes.
“Rather than engaging in petty fights, I have decided to clear the air by stepping away from the show,” he stated.
Speculation about Nedu’s exit began after Honest Bunch guest DeeOne, a comedian and reality TV star, alleged that social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) had intimate relationships with men.

VDM, in response, accused Nedu of orchestrating the allegations and leaking private conversations.
VDM also accused Nedu of sexual exploitation, claiming he had confided in him about his past relationships. Amid the backlash, Nedu announced his departure from the show on February 14.

Addressing the allegations, Nedu clarified that his role on the podcast was to play the “devil’s advocate” to spark engaging and controversial discussions.
“My job was to ask questions that would trigger debates, and I successfully did that,” he said.

However, Nedu also made a shocking announcement, declaring that he would no longer be accessible to the public.
“I’m done being nice. My niceness has been taken for granted, and I’ve been abused by people who claimed to be my friends. If you have my number, please delete it. I don’t want to be reachable or accessible anymore,” he declared.
Nedu’s management team has condemned the recent attacks on his character, stating that legal action will be taken against those spreading false accusations.
“The accusations against Nedu have gone beyond petty issues. Lawyers will take action, and necessary legal steps will be taken to protect his reputation,” the statement read.
Despite stepping away from The Honest Bunch, Nedu remains a key figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
However, his latest statements suggest a shift in how he intends to navigate public life moving forward.
