The Police Command in Akwa Ibom State has passed out a total number of 1,5511female officers on Saturday the February 15 drawn from Divisions and Area Commands after an intensive tactical and operational training program at the 26 Police Mobile Squadron.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Baba Mohammed Azare, in his remarks at the occasion stated that the exercise was aimed at strengthening the security apparatrix of Akwa Ibom State and the nation in general. He noted that apart from physical endurance, the training also boosted mental agility, tactical precision and strategic response to real-world security threats. He emphasized the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s dedication to gender balance in the Force, he emphasized that the newly trained officers will play a critical role in ensuring energy security across the country:
“This training is not just a routine exercise; it is a deliberate and strategic initiative that underscores the evolution of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). Under the visionary leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, the Force is undergoing remarkable transformation, with a focus on tactical, intelligence-driven, and result-oriented training.” The CP said.
He used the occasion to pay tribute to the late CP Waheed Ayilara, under whose tenure the training was initiated, acknowledging his contributions to police capacity-building.
CP Azare also commended the former Squadron Commander of the 26 PMF, ACP Baba Mala Mohammed, in whose tenure the training was conceived and kicked off.
He appreciated the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, for making security a priority which has made Akwa Ibom one of the safest states in Nigeria.
The three-month training subjected the officers to rigorous exercises such as: Advanced Drill, Debussing Under Fire, Stripping and Assembling of Arms, Weapon Exercises, Tactical Formation, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCC3), Cordon and Defense Operations amongst other training skills.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Security, DIG Adeyemi, Ogunjemilusi, The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno congratulated the women police officers and admonished them to remain committed and professional in the discharge of their duties, he applauded the CP and his team for their diligence and commitment to keeping the state safe, while pledging to continue supporting the Force.
