Senate Confirms Najomo As NCAA Director General

The Nigerian Senate has officially confirmed Captain Chris Ona Najomo as the substantive Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

His confirmation came during a plenary session on Thursday, February 6, following the adoption of a report by the Senate Committee on Aviation.

Before this appointment, Najomo had been serving as the Acting DG of the NCAA.

In a statement on the NCAA’s official X account (formerly Twitter), the agency extended its best wishes for his tenure and expressed confidence in his leadership.

Senator Buhari Abdulfatai (APC-Oyo), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation, praised Najomo’s extensive experience and qualifications, stating that he is well-suited for the role.

Senator Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno) also backed his appointment, highlighting his impressive track record and the absence of any objections from security agencies.

With unanimous support from the Senate, Najomo’s confirmation solidifies his role in steering the future of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
