UFC Fight 250: Imavov Stuns Adesanya With Knockout Victory

Israel Adesanya’s future in the middleweight division is uncertain after suffering a shocking knockout loss to Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Fight Night 250 in Saudi Arabia.

The former two-time middleweight champion entered the fight under intense pressure following back-to-back defeats to Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis.

Despite being the favorite, Adesanya couldn’t halt his losing streak as Imavov, a Dagestani-born Frenchman, secured the biggest win of his career with a stunning second-round knockout.

Adesanya started strong, staying light on his feet and targeting Imavov’s lead leg with hard low kicks. However, the determined Imavov kept pressing forward, eventually closing the distance and landing a powerful shovel hook that snapped Adesanya’s head back.

With just over a minute left in the round, Adesanya absorbed a heavy right hand but managed to stay on his feet.

However, he failed to fully recover before the restart. Moments later, Imavov connected with another thunderous right hand, sending Adesanya crashing to the canvas.

Seizing the moment, Imavov followed up with a massive left uppercut and relentless ground-and-pound. Referee Marc Goddard quickly stepped in, stopping the fight and declaring Imavov the winner.

The stunned crowd at the AnB Arena, which included global football star Cristiano Ronaldo, watched in disbelief as Adesanya struggled to come to terms with the knockout.
