Only National Convention Can Remove Me – Anyanwu

Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asserted that his removal from office can only be effected through a national convention, emphasizing the legitimacy of his election.

Speaking during a meeting of the South East members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) and party stakeholders, Anyanwu addressed internal disputes within the party.

“In 2023, I informed the party of my intention to contest for the governorship of my state and requested a three-month leave,” Anyanwu stated. “I asked my deputy to oversee my responsibilities in my absence. However, during this period, the former South East Zonal Vice Chairman, Ali Odefa, was plotting to remove me.”

He further alleged that Odefa misled Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah into supporting efforts to unseat him.

Anyanwu reiterated his commitment to the party and its unity, urging stakeholders to work together to address the ongoing internal challenges.
