In the latest twist to the ongoing divorce saga surrounding popular Nigerian singer, 2baba and his wife, Annie Idibia, the singer has confirmed that he said what he said regarding the divorce.
This is even as he disclosed that contrary to reports, his official Instagram account was not hacked.
In a video he posted on the account, the singer said;
“Yo my people, nobody hacked my account. Na me talk wetin I wan talk, you understand” he said.
The Matrix reports that confusion and shock had trailed the development. Earlier on Sunday, January 26, 2025, the Nigerian music icon 2baba reportedly posted that he and his wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, are separated and awaiting divorce.
In the post, 2baba confirmed that the duo had been separated for a while and recently filed a divorce.
The musician promised to issue a statement soon to tell his side of the story to his beloved fans, whom he said deserve to know what has transpired between him and his estranged wife.
The post reads, “Hello to my beautiful people of all Federations.
“Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long… I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now and currently filed for divorce…
“I would grant a press release soon to say my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life; but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offence.
“Stay blessed my people. I love you all,” 2Baba concluded.
Shortly after that, he came out to announce that his account had been hacked. A post which he has now deleted.
In the now deleted post, said;
“My Instagram account has been hacked; efforts are being carried out to regain control #onelove!” he stated in a terse statement.
2Baba and Annie, who got married in 2012, are parents to two children and have long been considered one of the Nigerian entertainment industry’s most prominent couples.
The industry is watching as events unfold.
