Sokoto SSG Loses Daughter, Three Grandchildren In Tragic House Fire

In a devastating incident, the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government (SSG), Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, lost his daughter and three of her children in a fire that engulfed their residence in the early hours of Monday.  

The deceased, wife to Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, tragically perished alongside her children while they were asleep. Her husband was the sole survivor of the inferno.  

The Sokoto State Fire Service battled the flames for hours before finally extinguishing the fire. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

The remains of the deceased are scheduled for burial at the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque in Sifawa, the family home of the SSG, later today.  

The tragedy has drawn an outpouring of grief and condolences, with Sokoto State Deputy Governor Engr. Idris Mohammed Gobir, members of the state executive council, All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts, friends, and well-wishers gathering in Sifawa for the burial rites.  

The Sokoto community mourns the irreplaceable loss, extending prayers and support to the grieving family.
