The 38-year-old artist took to Instagram to express his gratitude and pride, recalling the inspiration he once drew from his peers. He wrote, “[I] used to look up to some people then I hit a growth spurt…$$$.”
Drake, who first gained fame for his role as Jimmy Brooks in the CTV teen drama series *Degrassi: The Next Generation* (2001–2008), launched his music career in 2006 with the release of his debut mixtape, *Room for Improvement*.
Since then, he has become one of the world’s best-selling artists and holds the title of the best-selling rapper of all time. His hit single, *One Dance*, featuring Wizkid and Kyla, achieved a Guinness World Record as the first song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.
