Edo Govt Issues 72-Hour Ultimatum to Ighodalo, Others to Return State Vehicles

The Edo State Government has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the last governorship election, and other individuals to return government vehicles allegedly in their possession.  

The Chairman of the Government Assets Recovery Committee, Kelly Okungbowa, disclosed this during a press briefing, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to reclaiming state property.

Okungbowa revealed that some vehicles from the defunct Edo Line transport company had been discovered in a Benin City spare parts market. 

He urged those in possession of government vehicles, including Ighodalo and his running mate, to return them promptly, noting that some had been moved to locations outside the state, such as Lagos and Abuja.

“We appeal to them to do the right thing. These vehicles belong to Edo State, and we know how costly it is to replace them,” Okungbowa said.  

The committee has vowed to take legal action if the vehicles are not returned within the stipulated timeframe.
