Adeleke Defends N100bn Infrastructural Plan Amid Blackmail Allegations

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his commitment to implementing his N100 billion infrastructural plan despite alleged attempts at political blackmail.  

Speaking during the commissioning of the Iresi/Otan Ayegbaju township roads, abandoned for over 44 years, Adeleke described the project as a historic milestone.  

“Today, we open for public use a road that has been in disrepair since the Second Republic. For the past 44 years, it remained neglected, but our administration has broken this four-decade jinx,” Adeleke stated.

He revealed that the completed work includes 7.5 kilometers of roads, comprising 3 kilometers of Iresi township roads and the 4.5-kilometer Otan Ayegbaju-Iresi road.  

Adeleke criticized previous administrations for their failures, stating, “We are opposed to the politicization of development. Our administration will continue to upgrade infrastructure across all sectors. We won’t yield to political blackmail from those who failed the people for decades.”

Additionally, the Governor inaugurated the Cooperative College in Ode-Omu, which had been abandoned for 12 years, further emphasizing his resolve to revive long-neglected projects across the state.
