Edo Governor Okpebholo Reinstates Sacked Ambrose Alli University Staff

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved the immediate reinstatement of staff members of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, who were dismissed in March 2023.

The announcement was made on Monday in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, describing the reinstatement as a step toward rectifying past injustices and promoting equity and justice.

The affected staff, mainly members of the university’s Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) branch, were disengaged following protests over unpaid salaries and other entitlements.

Ikhilor emphasized Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to justice and adherence to the rule of law, stating, “This reinstatement demonstrates His Excellency’s dedication to correcting injustices and upholding the principles of natural justice and good governance.”
