Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his highly anticipated December concert in Lagos might be canceled following backlash from his recent remarks about Nigeria’s economy.

The controversy stems from an interview on the American podcast Big Homies House, where Davido described Nigeria’s economy as being in “shambles.” He also advised Americans against relocating to Africa, particularly Nigeria.

Responding to the backlash, Davido defended his stance, asserting that entertainers like him are the true ambassadors of Nigeria. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
