Tinubu Heads To France For State Visit To Deepen Bilateral Ties

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Wednesday, November 27, for a three-day state visit to France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

The visit, focused on enhancing political, economic, and cultural relations, highlights a shared commitment to fostering cooperation in key sectors.

According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the visit will include a series of high-profile engagements.

President Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu will be formally received on Thursday at Les Invalides and the Élysée Palace by President Macron and French First Lady Brigitte Macron.

During the visit, both leaders will hold bilateral discussions on critical areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition.

A notable focus will be on creating opportunities for Nigerian youth in automation, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.

Key political and economic meetings will also address mutual interests in finance, solid minerals, trade, investment, and communication.

Additionally, both presidents will attend a session of the France-Nigeria Business Council to explore private-sector collaboration for economic development.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will engage with her French counterpart, discussing her initiatives under the Renewed Hope Initiative, which supports women, children, and vulnerable groups.

The visit will conclude with a state dinner hosted by President Macron, symbolizing the growing partnership between Nigeria and France.
