EFCC Arrests 36 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Onitsha

The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 36 suspected internet fraudsters in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The arrests were made on October 11, 2024, following intelligence reports linking the individuals to online criminal activities.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects impersonated foreign nationals on social media to defraud unsuspecting victims. Items recovered during the operation include eight luxury vehicles, along with high-end mobile phones and laptops.

The suspects are set to face charges once investigations are concluded.
