President Tinubu Leads Dignitaries In Celebrating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu led Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and other prominent Nigerians in celebrating Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary.

The event culminated with a military parade at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, amidst a festive atmosphere.

President Tinubu arrived at 10 a.m., greeted by pipers and an inspection of the Quarter Guard mounted by the Guards Brigade.

 He then took his position on the saluting dais, where he received the national salute as the Special Guest of Honour, marking the official start of the celebration.

The 64th anniversary featured a presidential change of guards, followed by a Colour Patrol display by the Nigerian Armed Forces, symbolizing the nation’s military pride. 

The ceremony reached its peak with President Tinubu signing the anniversary register, cutting the cake alongside Vice President Shettima, National Assembly leaders, and top security officials.

They concluded by releasing pigeons, symbolizing peace across the nation.
