North Korea Pledges Support to Russia ‘Until Victory’ In Ukraine Conflict

In a bold declaration from Moscow, North Korea’s Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui pledged unwavering support to Russia until its “victory” in Ukraine.

The statement, which intensifies concerns about North Korean involvement in the ongoing war, follows reports suggesting up to 10,000 North Korean troops may soon join the fight on Russia’s side.

U.S. intelligence has indicated that some North Korean forces are already near Russia’s Kursk border, prompting warnings from both Washington and Seoul.

Choe expressed North Korea’s confidence in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “wise leadership,” and referred to Russia’s two-year offensive in Ukraine as a “sacred struggle.”

Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, lauded the nations’ deepening relationship, hailing North Korea’s stance on Ukraine as “principled.” He noted the “very close ties” between the military and intelligence services of both countries, though neither official confirmed reports of an impending troop deployment.

As tensions rise, U.S. officials have vowed to increase support to Kyiv, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed frustration over the lack of international response to North Korea’s potential involvement.
