Bobrisky Sues VeryDarkMan For N1 Billion Over Alleged Bribery Claims

Nigerian social media personality and cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has filed a lawsuit against internet activist and influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM), seeking N1 billion in damages. 

This legal action follows VDM’s release of a voice recording, allegedly of Bobrisky, claiming to have bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him.

Bobrisky, however, denies these allegations, asserting that the voice recording was artificially generated using AI technology. 

He has demanded a written and video apology from VDM within 24 hours, as shared in a legal letter posted on his social media account.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has launched an investigation into the bribery allegations against the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), sparked by the claims made by VDM. 

During a recent plenary session, Rep. Patrick Umoh from Akwa Ibom expressed concern over the damage such allegations could do to Nigeria’s international reputation.

The matter has now been referred to the Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions for further investigation.
