“I’m Still In Charge” – Austin Eguavoen Dismisses Rumour

Austin Eguavoen, the Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has refuted rumors that he has stepped down as the interim coach of the Super Eagles.

These rumors surfaced following Nigeria’s recent AFCON qualifiers against Rwanda. Super Eagles were held to a 0-0 draw in Kigali.

Despite the draw, Eguavoen has clarified that he remains in charge of the team.

“IUnfortunately,people are spreading false information,” he stated upon his return to Abuja.

“I’ve only discussed with the NFF hierarchy about our plans for the upcoming qualifiers against Libya.”

Eguavoen emphasized that he is committed to his role as both Technical Director and interim coach of the Super Eagles.

“When I saw that story I was worried. Whatever people are reading out there isn’t correct. I’m still very much in charge.

“I’m the Technical Director of the NFF, saddled with the responsibility of taking the Super Eagles at this moment,” he said.
